CHALLENGES: LANGUAGE= ENGLISH

Greetings, today post is about literally English. Like other people I’d learned English through games, music or movies and I always had a good handle of the vocabulary (because I watch other people talk English normally, not acting or formal, so in that way I comprehend a lot more the context of what they are talking about) so in the classes I don’t learn much new things. Now in the university also I don’t feel like learn a lot, mostly of the time it just refresh my memory by putting my knowledge in practice. I do expect a lot of writing in English but also more moment to improve the oral interactions and pronunciation.

I think that the program has to be less writing and a little more speaking so it can improve the fluency and correct a little the “broken English” accent. The orals homework that we’ve done are kind of easy because we can use a script but almost every time that I have to talk in English in a normal conversation the words don’t come to my head and end up thinking word by word of what I want to say.

Outside the classes I use a lot my English, but just for hearing and barely for writing. I like a lot some Youtubers that talk English, while I watch them don’t use subtitles, try to understand everything just by hearing and mostly of the time I catch all that they say, every time it get easier. Also sometimes I leave a comment but very short and direct. 

What I change to my programme?

Now then, I’m studying aliment engineering but I don’t know much about it. I know that the first years are common plan or basic phase and everyone must go through it. It is the tough part of every career but I think is necessary, first reason is because the basics knowledge and second reason is because it works as filter for those that aren’t ready to study in the university. This curriculum is been changed a little time ago, so I’m not sure if I would change something else more.

After that first process it follows the bachelor's degree which has a lot of subjects, I would change that because I don’t see the point of put 7 subjects every semester because some of them are way more difficult that the others, I’ll make that the easier subjects fit in just one topic so is going to be more time for the other subjects.

Finally is the professional course and I don’t know anything about it (mostly of this course it is self-learning I guess).

Everything about the faculty facilities I think is okay, in a technically way, but personally I don’t like the design or the style of the buildings it is so simple I’ve seen other faculties and those look very cool , but speaking about inside the classrooms it is good because the devices installed work fine.

And in my opinion of the teaching methods, are okay until now. The teachers and the assistants are very helpful to any student (most of them).

Summer holidais

Well I don’t have any plans for summer vacations yet, probably can’t do a trip to the beach or things like that because we don’t have money.

 I would like to get a backpack a carpet and food to climb the Cordillera and just be there one or two nights only because I like the mountains a lot, don’t have really a plan of what I can do is just be there, maybe a carrete or swim in a river thing more simple and quick (and cheap).

 Another thing is there I thinking to work, some to get new stuff, usually don’t use my free time for work I rather rest the summer, play games and watch a lot of series. But I’m thinking to work in a company with a lot of my circle of friends so we will still be reunited. While working I’d like to visit a friend that lives close to the job in that way the days won’t be that tough.

If I change my mind I’d like to go to the south of Chile and visit Villarica’s lake again, I’ve go with my family once with my uncles and we see beautiful landscapes, we visit a lake that have a city in the bottom and I want to dive in for once, because then I don’t have the courage so if go there again I get into that no matter what.

ma pets

Hello there, I'm going to talk about my pets it is a subject that I have plenty experiences because I had pets since little child. For example in my first home I remember that we have a lot of cats that we share with my siblings, all come from the same momma cat that we call literally “Gata”, yeah we take care of the mother and their pups, we receive the cubs and take care of them until they grow, everyone must have a name (that was the hard part since the names were getting exhausted). But one day happened what it had to happen, we lost our Gata L

A couple of years we move out to the home there I’m now, at first we weren’t thinking on get pets but one  day 8 years ago one friend offers one puppy very cute and we accept to adopt it. My brother call it “Fufu” just because he thinks it sounds good. He is my companion since then or more like my little brother because that is kind of the way I treat it, so he became really “mamon”, very dependent but also is a dog that is always happy and always want to play.

If we don’t have our dog probably we were less busy XD because he is really bad behaving, but he gives us a lot of fun times.

Future job

Hi there I’ll talk about a job that I would like to have, first thing I’m far from having a real job right now, I’ve to study much more yet. At any job that I get into, I’m not so sure if I like to stay in Chile or move to another country, but the idea of traveling constantly doesn’t like to me a lot. I also don’t mind the money a lot because I’m not so greedy and content with just a few things.  I don’t know if I require some major but if is needed I’ll do it

 The career I choose it because I think that I can help with, like researching for new content for food so it can be healthier or tastier ;) work with companies like Nestle or Carozzi for this option. They’re supposed to be a subject about this in this career program. The objective is finding some molecule in any plant of fruit that haven’t been investigated; anywhere could find something useful.

Another option in my mind is work with companies that assist people like Sodexo, it is a little bit away from what I’m studying but is still a viable work, but I’m like timid and is hard to me get along with new people and in an company so big like Sodexo it’s going to be in that situation a lot.

National Holidays=chill n' food

Hello, I’m going to talk some of my national holidays. Me so as a lot of people will say that they start on Friday 15 in the Quimiofonda. I and some classmates want to stay in the Quimiofonda after the classes were over, so we spend a lot of time in there, we brought some wine, drinks, some “terremotos” and others illicit substances.

The next day was the turn of my friends from school, we met up in a friend’s house, we collect money to make some “choripanes”, hamburgers, terremotos and we talk n’ chill (illicit substances strike again).

The Sunday I rest during the day and in the night I get visited by familiars and we ate some barbecue. The 18 celebrate a little more in an aunt’s house with other familiars and with of course bbqs. The 19 I stay in my house and guess what we do, another barbecue. These 3 days can be resumed in ate a lot of meat, at any hour in different proportion I don’t know if that amount of meat was healthy but it was tasty so I don’t complain.

The rest of the week I use it to go out more or play in my house, I feel some guilty for not grab a book and study a bit xD

I don't really like to read books of fables because I get really bored, I prefer movies or series and just watch action or comedy movies/series(yeah I don't watch high-quality content).
The movie that I like the most it's Batman The Dark Knight Rises that came out in 2012. The director was Cristopher Nolan and the main cast was Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michel Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathway and Tom Hardy as the bad guy (and others).

This is the last movie of the trilogy after Batman defeats Ra's al Ghul and the Joker, now it appears another enemy that wanna see the world in total chaos, Bane. Bruce Wayne is injured and don't wanna participate in his company anymore, taking the opportunity different businessman try to get benefits from it and the new threat of terrorists it's arriving.

I like this movie because the plot turns so intense in the middle turning very quick with Batman losing, the bad guy's plan is fulfilled but Batman came again to stop everything and in that moment, another! turn in the plot.
This movie very it's good by itself and is not necessary to watch the another 2.

My best holidays

My favorite holiday was one summer vacation in Coquimbo (January in 2013 I think, don’t remember). In that travel I was with my family and we stay in my aunt’s house ten days. She was married with a history teacher and he knows a lot of thing about the Coquimbo area. Every day we wake up early to tour and in the afternoon we go to the beach, because the morning is very cold and in the afternoon the sun heat a lot.

First we tour the city; we see the architecture, walk in the markets and see the coast.

The next day we wander in wander in the Pampilla, another day we were in the Mezquita, we also were in the Third Millennium Cruz.

One morning we start the day very early to a trip in bus and then in boat to go to the Dama islands, there we see penguins and for first time wild dolphins!

Even though we put a lot of effort every day and there no much time to relax, it was a great vacation.

One country I'm interested in is USA, it is reasonable of course because it's the most influential country of all, with the music, movies, series, inventions, sites, memes, etc.

I'd like to go there because the country is huge. Mixing enormous cities, with small towns and incredible landscapes like forests, desert, canyons and beaches

Most I know of the country is through TV, and even though that is fiction it's still based on people from there. But also I watch news from USA and talk to random people from there with reddit or 4chan.

I'd like live in USA with a work rather that study there but it's kind of very big country, I'll choose some of the northern states like Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, etc because the temperature (I've heard that it's horrible the heat in summer) and for the presence of a lot of forests, I'm sure that I can get used to the people there because they're so much kind and respectful 

In the end

So after 8 blogs I would say that now I'm used to this, blog after blog it is easier to write more than the older blogs, it is fun to write so much in English so can use my knowledge but also search for words that I don’t knew before. 

Reading the blogs of my classmates was pretty interesting, because the content and also to see their handling of English (but sometimes very boring because usually their blogs doesn't talk about the subject, they just fill). 

In my case write and comment doesn’t develop new abilities, I just use every that already have, at least I can put them on practice but, as I said, it's not really a challenge (some blogs just take me an hour to make). I like the idea of continuing the blog I like to write in English because it feels more important but knowing that the number of words we must use it just going to increase, kind of ruin the mood (I remember that we start just with 100 words :c ).

I don't have ideas for new topics to use in the future, I'm not so creative and I like to take the surprise of meet with a brand new topic

Subjects subjects subjects

Today I'll tel you what isthe subject the I like the most in this semester. I probably must say that it is chemistry becuase that the reason to enter to this career but the subject (General Chemistry I) was way too hard that I thought lo, it was very frustrating. I enjoy much more the subject Introduction to Calculus, the classes were kind boring of course but when I can finally apply what I learn was pleasing although my marks weren't very good I like the trajectory of the course.
The classes consists in some explications with a variety of examples after them, I usually arrive to the classroom late and I have to catch the explication from the middle but I don't mind. In the class I was very attentive and write every note that I can.
The stuff that the teacher taught were equations and inequality, all kind of functions everything about function, I don't belive that function can have that amount of subjects, there are like "normals" or reals, exponential, derivative, limits and much more to come.

Hey yo whats up
Today subject is about a site where a aliment engineering can apply because they participate simultaneously with them. The site its dictuc.cl there people progress with food or ingredients of them, to make them more healthy, with more flavor, more economic, etc.
The map of the site it's very simple, with a column with the basic information and news or reports in the sides or in the bottom of any page of the site.
Even if the site don't seems very atractive or interesting because of the aspect, you shouldn't be carried by appariences. The site provides information short and direct of their differents works.
I choose it because sometimes calls for people to introduce in their proyects to different problems found on industry now days and don't ask for professionals with great archievements or long long years of studies, it could be a new graduated engineer like one day I will be.
I don't know the site before so now I will star to visit it sometimes, for reads the news and old reports

So time to talk about anime…mmmm

If I have to choose a favorite anime I don’t really know what to say, because even I’ve watch anime usually aren’t really special, just shot comedies with like 10 or 14 episodes. But maybe Kono subarashii sekai ni sushufuku wo (Konosuba to abbreviate) can be my favorite. It’s a comedy anime quite short but with two seasons. I choose it because I re-watch some episodes and still enjoy it. I like because in some part the jokes are hilarious, the characters too, the fact that they are like in a videogame and the music. There a couple of things in the anime there I don’t like: the show don’t progress a lot, there is no much action and aren’t much episodes even known it was good received. I met the show because someone posts a video about a character call Megumin it’s a mage that cast a spell call Explosion! and when she does a lot of shines effects start to appear in that moment the anime cough my attention. It’s totally recommended.

Hello there today I’ll show you a very shameful photo but I really like it and those that are with me like it too.  The guy in the middle take the selfie, he looks very sober but if he wasn’t for alcohol he didn’t be smiling at all. As you can see it doesn’t show much just 4 drunk friends in middle of the night. I’m in the very left, yes, that one that it’s dying, I have my 2 friends close to me and there is also that one guy in the right that I don’t know what is he doing. There was more guest in that party, we were all in a friend’s house in Lampa because that friend celebrates his birthday, and we decided to bring a lot of alcohol. I like this photo because it’s very funny to me and I bet that everyone thinks the same.

Technology?, PC!!

My favorite piece of technology is of course is a big cabinet personal computer, brand Intel and with Windows. My father used to work with PC so he thinks to have one in the house is very important so the first PC I’ve have was when I was a little kid, probably have like 6 years old when I used the PC for the first time. I like it so much because it had two games very entertaining: Age of empire and Pokemon sapphire edition. The years passed and my father sometimes updates the different PCs that we have in our house.

The things there I can do in my PC are uncountable! but it hasn’t the potency of another PCs more recent so it has a limit.

I usually take care of the PC’s “health” so I’ve never be in the point of lost one.

I do like to have new computers with better potency but it’s very expensive and nowadays I’m not in situation of spend money on that and also I won’t have time to use it a lot.

why I'm an aliment engineering?

I've been a fan of chemistry since child and I want to be a good scientist when I grow up, but I start to be more and more lazy along the years so thinking if I'm going to follow my dreams I don't really the most demanding career of all (like chemistry  and pharmacy or chemistry degree), so I investigate on the options and I found aliment engineering, a career that got what I want to but not the most strict and boring one, also It teaches in the Chile’s university that has good reputation. I think that my option was good because it’s useful for me in the fact that I’ll have a good work when I graduate. Until now I don’t regret my option, this first semester was tough but it’s what I expected and people here have been nice (at their own way lol).

Greetings my name is Luciano Orellana and I will talk about me, I'm nineteen years old right now, I was born in december 16th in Puente Alto, there is where I live still today. The past year I fnished my last year of school and now I in the university, studing Aliment Engineneering in the Chile's University. I choose it because I like chemistry so much :D and I wanna be a good scientific. When I'm not studing I rather spend my time in my computer surfing in the internet especially  those forein and outlandish sites. I'm into videogames as well in a varied kind, I prefer those that I can play online with my friends. When I dinner with my family we watch news on the TV or see a movie, I prefer action movies. Finaly when I can't do any of this things I listen to the music in my phone, especially when I'm traveling in the subway, I like a mixed types of music but my favorite are alternative rock.
